Embodied Performance: Ritual, Rage, and Divine Comedy – A Weekend Retreat

Step into a living, breathing, laboratory of presence, expression, and transformation.

Embodied Performance: Ritual, Rage, and Divine Comedy, a weekend retreat led by Kat Mills Martin and Adriana Marie Rizzolo.

As artists, mystics, and friends on the devotional path, Kat and Adriana bring three decades of teaching experience to the realms of embodiment, writing, ritual, and play. You might find yourself howling, spiraling, crying, laughing, and then suddenly having a profound emotional breakthrough… all before lunch.

With a background in film, theater, and movement, Kat is an endlessly inspired artist and mother who brings a playful yet grounded presence to art-making as a spiritual practice.

Adriana is a force of nature with a diverse background in the creative and healing arts, often traversing the taboo topics of death, sex, money, and grief.

Together, they are voyagers of the underworld, drawing from their paths in somatics, Tantra, ritual theater, and feminine mysticism. This retreat is a space that’s equal parts wild experimentation and deeply held container.

You’ll move between structured prompts, exercises, and exploration. This isn’t about being “good” at performance. It’s about being in it—fully, messily, honestly. It’s about discovering what happens when your body, voice, and imagination are brought into coherence and aliveness.

Expect heart-opening writing, Body Temple Dance, voice work, ritual, connection, and moments where you wonder “what is happening and why am I suddenly crying like this?”.

Kat and Adriana cultivate a vibe that is electric, weirdly healing, and unapologetically fun—where we drop the masks of perfectionism and are invited to embrace our messiness and eccentricities.

Come be too much with us, be rude, be rageful, be hilarious.

All you overthinkers, secret artists, and recovering perfectionists–let’s jump into the playing field of embodied performance and lived experience.

Be prepared to move, feel, risk, laugh at yourself, and maybe meet a version of you that’s been waiting patiently (or impatiently) to come out and take up space.
